Discord Terms of Service and Discord Guidelines do not allow unsolicited Direct Messages, especially on a mass scale.

When Discord security system detects undesirable behavior from any bot, it can take a range of actions including flagging it, restricting its functions, removing verification status or even penalizing Discord account of the bot owner.

Important note:
Please take this warning seriously, as it could result in your custom bot losing functionality or even lead to the suspension of your Discord account.

Only Discord can clear this flag from your bot.

The MEE6 team cannot remove the flag or resolve this issue with Discord on your behalf.

How to Resolve a Discord Flag on Your Custom Bot

You can resolve this issue in one of the two ways.

Slower solution without guaranteed results.
1. Visit https://discord.com/developers/applications
2. Select your affected custom bot application
3. Fill in the appeal form.
You can also use direct link from the warning message that MEE6 dashboard shows you.

This is an appeal form that allows you to contest Discord’s decision to flag or restrict your custom bot application.
Before submitting, ensure you have selected the appropriate categories and provided all required information that Discord requests.

Please note that Discord might take several days to reply back.

There is no guarantee that they will remove the flag, meaning your custom bot might still remain restricted\flagged.

Quicker solution that can restore bot operations for your server much faster.
1. Go to https://mee6bot.com/dashboard/ and select the affected server.
2. In the "Welcome & Goodbye plugin", turn off the "Send a private message to new users" to avoid being flagged again.
3. Create a new custom bot application by going to https://discord.com/developers/applications and clicking "New Application" (top-right). Follow this How to set-up MEE6 Custom Bot guide to ensure proper configuration of the new bot.
4. Duplicate any Ticketing Panels, Embed Messages, Reaction Role embeds, and Welcome Channel messages, as bots can't edit or manage messages created by other bots due to Discord's security policies.

Make sure to give your new custom bot administrator permissions and bring its role to the top of the list.
This will ensure that everything will work seamlessly, just like before.

You can use the same name and picture for your bot to make a perfect clone where no one else will notice it.
If done quickly, you can minimize the downtime for your server to just 5-10 minutes.
